July 24, 1998 Dear Angelical Cat Company, I am writing this letter to congratulate you on the quality cat furniture you are selling. I have been a veterinarian for over 27 years and can't emphasize enough the importance of the PROPER cat furniture for cats, especially indoor cats. Let me tell you what I have been saying to cat owners for years . . . exercise has been and continues to be an integral part of their daily existence. Domesticated cats no longer get the exercise required to keep them healthy, compromising bone and muscle health, heart and lung efficiency, and creating obesity which leads to diabetes, liver, lung, joint and heart disease. Exercise is essential for the good health of a cat! Cat trees serve as exercise equipment, giving cats an opportunity to climb up and down the tree, with all types of hiding places to play. The problem is that many cat trees are so unstable, that once a cat climbs up them, they won't do it again, thus wasting money and leaving the cat without exercise. My recommendations for cat trees are thus specific to yours. I have not found any other cat trees that are stable, and made of carpeting that will last. Keep up the good work. Dear Angelical, I want to tell you how much we are enjoying our new cat tree. Within minutes of its delivery early last month, all five of my indoor-only cats were in their new cat tree, testing its surfaces and exploring its many paths to the topmost perch. There was some excited hissing and boxing as they began working out their own protocols about what tunnel or perch belonged to who and when. It was very funny to watch--but they worked it out and all are enjoying the tree according to their own "rules". Some of them are really enjoying the novelty of scratching on real tree bark. All like the height--84" tall. One has found the express route to the pagoda, flying straight up the side of one of the tree trunks. My older (fat) cat takes the "stairs" working her way through all the twists and turns of the tunnels and their openings. She, too, makes it to the top, and I am delighted to see her getting this exercise. The cat tree occupies a prominent place in our four-season enclosed breezeway: under a skylight and in front of French doors. There is plenty of sunshine and a great view. What came as a surprise to me was the reactions of visitors who don't own cats. They want a tree, too--for themselves. They tell me it looks like a lot of fun and is very good-looking. I like the security of multiple pole construction, the durable berber carpet, and the tree's footprint is a modest two-feet square. While it is an impressive and imposing piece, it hardly takes up any space. (Most cat trees I've seen take up more floor space the larger they get). I also appreciate being able to customize the tree: The cradle was a nice substitute for one of the three tunnels. Enclosed are some pictures. We have a shelf over the French doors, and short shelves on the opposite wall acting as stairs and a second way for the cats to get onto or off the cat tree in case someone is being testy and unwilling to let another pass by. He frisks, frolics, leaps and climbs all over it. Then when he's tired, he falls asleep upside down on the top shelf. This paws-in-the-air position is Max's bliss expression. Dear Alan and Pat, My name is Reggie (named after Elton John's real name), I am an 18 mo. solid black kitty who got the COOLEST present in the world today. My Mommy bought me and my brothers and sister an awesome cat tree from you, and we can't thank you enough. It's so much fun to climb through the tunnels, scratch on the sisal, and be way up on top where I think I belong--ha ha My Grandma and Grandpa are amazed at how beautiful it is, and how perfectly it matches our house. I was on it before Grandpa could get it out of the box--they thought it was so funny, they were making a video of me......Mom's gonna send pictures of all of us playing on it--but I have to let everyone get on it, first...I'm kinda bossy, so only I get to play on it right now. February 27, 1999 Dear Alan, Just a short note to tell you how pleased we all are (four cats, my husband and myself) with the condo we ordered. Not only is your customer service excellent but your product is far superior to anything I have seen in retail stores or at Cat Shows. Tiger, our big male cat, could just about fit in the old one we had, now he is quite comfortable in our new condo -- even brings in a small ball and bats it around a bit while he is laying down.
