About Our Shipping MethodsSmaller pieces are shipped via UPS. If an item is shipped UPS, the shipping cost is listed next to its price. Larger pieces exceed UPS size and weight requirements and must be shipped via freight companies. Freight charges vary depending on where the piece is going, its weight, and its total size. See Freight Deliveries for more details. Our online ordering system will automatically quote freight rates for you. Just click
on an item, select from available custom options in the form that opens up, enter your
ship-to zip code, and then click "Obtain a Quote".

you are interested in and your complete address including city, state or province, country,
and postal code.
For example, if an item weighs 15 pounds, but exceeds 84 inches in total dimensions (girth plus height), we are charged for 30 pounds. If an item weighs 35 pounds, but exceeds 108 inches in total dimensions, we are charged for 70 pounds. If a package exceeds 130 inches in total dimensions, UPS imposes a $50 "over maximum size" charge in addition to the regular rate. Many of our F series and R series cat trees exceed 70 pounds, especially when sisal rope is added to one or more posts. UPS rates increase sharply when the package weighs more than 70 pounds. The percent increase per pound below 70 is 0.6 percent; the percent increase per pound above 70 pounds is 3 percent. The Contemporary Two tall trees WB3, WB4, WCB3, WCB4, WT2P1 and WT3P1 are particulary affected by these charges. This is why our UPS rates may seem high. However, UPS is still less expensive than freight companies and the delivery process is easier. Our fully assembled tall trees are just too big for UPS. So for these trees we must use freight companies. However, for many of the reasons stated above, freight companies charge us higher minimum rates and residential delivery fees. We do not mark up freight costs, and we pass along to you a 50% discount that we receive. |
