The shipping cost quoted by our shopping cart applies to ground level deliveries
only (a few steps up to the door is okay) where the customer provides a helper to lower the item
from the truck. Extra charges may apply if additional services are required.
We will call you when your tree is shipped and let you know the phone number of the delivering
terminal, the tracking number, and the estimated time of arrival. We ask that you then call the
terminal and work directly with their customer service representatives to schedule the
delivery day.
At the time of delivery, please do the following:
- Inspect the outside of the package carefully. Look at all 4 sides of the package.
- Occasionally "rub damage" will occur to the outside of the package, but it does not mean that the item inside is damaged. Very important: If there is damage to the outside packing, you must note this on the delivery receipt that you sign. It is harder to win a claim if package damage is not noted on the delivery receipt.
- If the item inside is obviously damaged, simply refuse the item. It will be returned to us for repair or replacement.
The freight company will deliver the item using a large, 40-foot trailer. If a large trailer
cannot enter your residential area, or cannot maneuver inside your area, you can have it delivered to
a business or pick the item up at the terminal that services your area. You may have to meet the
freight truck on a major road or pick the item up at the terminal that services your area if: you
live in a very rural area; you live on a dirt or unmaintained road; if your driveway is difficult to
navigate; or if your residential area has low bridges, low-lying trees, and/or low-lying power lines.
Freight companies only send out one truck driver. Therefore, you will need to provide help to the
driver in lowering the tree to the ground. If you are unable to assist the driver (or have a friend
or relative help), we can try to arrange for a liftgate truck to mechanically lower the item to the
ground for an extra charge. However, liftgate trucks are not available at every terminal.
If you select the inside delivery option, the driver should help to bring your item just inside
the front door or garage but will not move it around within your home. Remember, the driver needs
help to do this. Sometimes it is easier to bring these trees inside if you unwrap them outside first,
then carry them in.
The driver will not:
- Carry the item up a flight of stairs (a few steps up to your front door are okay).
- Unwrap the item for you.
- Take away the packing materials.
Extra charges may apply if:
- The driver has to use an elevator to reach your residence. You can avoid this charge by accepting the item downstairs and bringing it up yourself.
- You fail to have your tree delivered within a week of the tree arriving at the serving terminal.
- You ask that a liftgate truck be used to mechanically lower the item to the ground.
- You change the delivery address after the item has been shipped.
